Snake River Montessori School
nurturing potential

During the school year, we host several fundraising events. These fundraising events are vital to the success of our school. In addition to helping keep our tuition fees low, the funds raised go towards playground equipment, books, cassettes, Montessori material, science equipment, and other learning materials. Parent involvement is required, for without it we could not raise the funds that allow our program to grow and improve.

 Major Funding

  • Mardi Gras is not only a great party. It is our major fundraising event where parents and the community join forces to help us sustain in a turbulent economy, and keep the tuition fees low while providing the same great quality educational experience to our students. Many people, however, come just for the fun. It features a silent auction, raffles, dinner, drinks, dancing, and a live auction. Costumes are encouraged but not required and the fabulous decorations get partiers in the mood for a real New Orleans style experience.

 Other Fundraising Activities

  • Rummage Sale: Clean out those closets and purge that garage!! This is one great sale! This event is held in April or early May. Childrens clothing, books and games are just a few of the highlights of this annual event.
  • SRMS Book Fair at Barnes & Noble features a percentage given to the school by Barnes & Noble for sales within the store and online. Teacher wish lists are filled and our outstanding school libraries are expanded!
  • Montessori Services For Small Hands toy/gift catalog fundraiser in October offers SRMS families the opportunity to purchase products for their home. The school receives a percentage of the total purchased in a credit voucher to spend on items for the classrooms.
  • Education Foundation: The Idaho Education Tax Credit lets you support the school with dollars you would otherwise pay on your Idaho Income Tax Return. Starting in 2011 and going through 2016 the State will credit 50% of the first $500 for an individual, $1000 for a married couple filing jointly, and $5,000 for corporations.
  • Soup Labels/ Box Top: Campbell product labels and General Mills Box Tops for Education are collected and allow the school to earn cash or various educational items. Labels and Box Tops can be placed in the drop box near the family folders.  www.growinglocallearning.com
  • Online Shopping: You can also go to boxtops4education.com. These merchants donate a percentage of your purchase price to the school you select. You do have to be a registered user for this site, but once youre in, youre in and the shopping is pretty easy here, too.
